As ever, Jo Malone London‘s Christmas offering is a glorious affair. This year’s sparkling, dazzling Art Deco themed campaign see the cast dancing their way through golden train carriages, their arms piled high with some of the best packaging I’ve ever seen the brand produce.
I make no apologies for being an absolute packaging geek, so often pulled in by a pretty package. This year it’s Art Deco themed; a shimmering monochrome wonder. But onto the products, arguably the most important part of the whole affair.
First things first, Orange Bitters is back. Inspired by the festive cocktail, I think I can best describe the scent as being a flame-singed orange rind, floating in a glass of a whisky. It’s festive and wintery but in no way out of place being worn in the Summer. You’ll find it back this year in both candle and cologne form, with a new addition to the range – a liquidless diffuser created from black marble. It’s exceptionally decadent.
This year’s new cologne edition arrives in a bottle for any Deco dressing table, Midnight Musk & Amber. This is one of the reasons I love Jo Malone London so much at Christmas; they don’t just throw some cinnamon at the situation and call it a festive edition. There’s always a thought process behind the collections; with Midnight Musk & Amber being the sultry scent that sees you through to the razzle-dazzle of New Year’s Eve.
Candle wise, you’ll also find welcome returns from Frosted Cherry & Clove, Pine & Eucalyptus and Roasted Chestnut. All of which now come presented with a matte black lid, topped with a Deco-styled handle. Delightful.
If you’re looking for gifting ideas, you’ll be spoilt for choice also. From candle sets to scented body powders, there really is a gifting option to suit the budget of almost all fans of the brand this year. The most obtainable option is a sweet hanging Christmas decoration, filled with deluxe mini Wild Bluebell Cologne and an English Pear & Freesia Body Cream. Just up from that is the beautifully striped cracker, stacked with three deluxe travel sizes.
For the big spenders you’ll find gift sets of multiple baubles, an incredible box featuring all three Limited Edition festive candles and if you’re feeling exceptionally extravagant in your Christmas planning, there’s even a box of six crackers for your Christmas table. I may actually have already added those to my basket and checked out.
Go forth and revel in the wonder of the Rip-Roaring Christmas. I suggest you dust off that sequin number and sashay around your kitchen in it.
